Document planner · Before you travel

Your residence documents – organise them before you leave

Which documents will you and your family need to prepare a residence application in Paraguay or Argentina? Based on your answers, the document planner creates a personal, provisional working overview. You can start organising from Germany or your own country of departure, identifying which documents to obtain for each person and which questions still need to be resolved.

What your overview contains

The overview links documents to the people you enter. Within its supported scope, it shows document requirements, known quantities, responsible authorities and the intended apostille, certification or legalisation steps. Translations, documents already held and outstanding checks are shown separately. Unresolved quantities or procedures are not presented as a complete set of ordering instructions. You can download the overview as a PDF.

Documents that may be relevant to your situation

These examples are not a mandatory list for everyone. Your residence route, family circumstances and the origin of each document determine what needs to be checked.

Civil status and family

Examples include a birth certificate or international birth certificate, a marriage certificate or international marriage certificate and, depending on your civil status, a divorce judgment or death certificate.

Criminal record, income and qualifications

A criminal record certificate, pension award notices and educational or professional qualifications may be relevant, depending on your residence route and personal circumstances.

Consent and representation

Powers of attorney, parental custody authorisations and powers of attorney for representation may need separate assessment. Their necessity, scope and form, including any required certifications or notarisation, require professional review for your case; the planner does not determine them conclusively.

Plan from your departure country – obtain documents from the responsible country

The country where you obtain a document is not necessarily your country of nationality or departure. You may need to obtain it from your country of birth or marriage, or another country responsible for the register or issuing authority, even if you live in Germany or hold a different nationality.

Apostille, further certification or legalisation

The procedure for a foreign document depends on its issuing country, document type and intended use in the destination country. It may involve an apostille, preliminary certifications or a legalisation procedure; an apostille is not universally required for every document. An international or multilingual certificate is not automatically exempt from an apostille either. Unresolved steps remain visible as items to check.

Translation needs depend on the relevant original content, not nationality. If all relevant original content is fully in Spanish, no additional translation is required for that content.

What AVR arranges in Paraguay when engaged

When engaged to assist with your application, AVR arranges the required certified copies locally through an authorised Escribanía Pública; you do not need to obtain these copies in advance. Under the agreed service package, AVR arranges required Spanish translations by a Traductor Público registered in Paraguay. If no suitable translator is available for your assignment, you may need to provide a translation prepared abroad with its own authentication procedure. Availability, scope and costs are agreed for the assignment. These Paraguay services do not extend to Argentina.

AVR · PLAN YOUR MOVE

Your documents.
A clear next step.

Organize your household, the origins of your documents and pending questions before moving. Each person and each document is considered separately.

The planner provides a preliminary working overview with limited rule coverage. Missing information and required professional reviews remain visible. It does not confirm a complete application file or one accepted by the authority.

Your information stays in this open browser window.

No names, passport numbers or uploads. Nothing is sent to AVR. When you choose another language, your entries are briefly transferred through this tab’s session storage and removed from it on arrival. A normal reload or “Delete details” removes the inputs. Printing and downloading occur only at your request; copies will then remain on your device.

These selections are applied to everyone only after you confirm. Unknown values remain open.

Time reference
The submission date is recorded separately for each person. A travel date does not replace it.
Who is included in the plan?

Also record family members who are not traveling but are relevant to custody or representation. Only anonymous identifiers are used.
